Research Abstract |
Theoretically, R & D is encouraged by the intellectual property rights(IPRs). Since the recent strengthened IPRs increase the transaction cost of R & D, public investment has become paid attention as a research institution, especially for the development of minor or locally specified crops. In this research, we have investigated the consumer preference toward Hokkaido or Tokachi agricultural products. Potato, one of the most important locally produced crops in Tokachi agriculture, is used in school lunch for whole year. The bread wheat, newly developed local specific type wheat, will also be demanded by local consumers because of quasi-public nature of local agriculture.
