Outline of Final Research Achievements	This research project reexamined Japanese space policy during the Cold War, immediately before and after the end of the Cold War, and in the post-Cold War period through multidisciplinary approaches that include political and diplomatic history as a core approach, international law, history of science and technology, and legal informatics. It strived to understand "how the end of the Cold War affected Japanese space policy." By thoroughly collecting, analyzing, and organizing primary sources, including declassified documents from the governments of both Japan and the United States, we summarized the history and materials of Japanese space policy. In order to present, share, and develop the research results, we held international meetings, created and partially published a "Space Policy and Law Documents Database System," where the contents and categories of the collected materials and the relationships among these materials were analyzed and organized.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements	本研究プロジェクトにより、国内外の研究においてこれまで十分に行われてこなかった、冷戦終結の日本宇宙政策への影響に関する分析とともに、日本宇宙政策の歴史の一つの総括を提供することで、今後の宇宙政策や宇宙法の策定及び研究発展に寄与することができたと考えている。また、日本の主要な宇宙政策法文書を収録した「宇宙政策法文書データベースシステム」を構築し部分的に公開したことで、政治学・国際関係論における新しい研究手法を提示し、宇宙政策法分野における研究・教育・実務の情報基盤の一つを提供することができたと考えている。
