処理性能の不確定性を考慮したサービスチェインのマッピングとスケジューリング方式

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ネットワーク機能仮想化技術の活用により、ソフトウェア化された複数のネットワーク機能を組み合わせたサービスチェインと呼ばれるネットワークサービスが提供される。高効率で低遅延なサービスチェインを提供するためには、サービスチェインをネットワーク上のノードにマッピングし、各ノードにおいて仮想化ネットワーク機能(VNF: virutal network function)処理のスケジューリングを行う必要がある。従来研究では、VNFの処理性能が変動しない(確定的である)と仮定して、マッピングおよびスケジューリングが行われていた。しかし、実運用上は、VNFの処理性能に不確定性が存在し、処理時間が変動する可能性がある。本研究では、VNFの処理性能に不確定性がある条件下で、高効率かつ低遅延なサービスを実現するマッピング・スケジューリング方式の基盤技術を確立する。

サービスチェインの設定要求と削除が繰り返される動的シナリオを想定して、VNFリサイジングと優先度付きキューの両方を考慮したサービス配備モデルの開発を行った。VNFリサイジングは、同一のホスト上にある複数のVNFインスタンスが、そのホストが提供する計算資源を共用することを可能にする。VNFインスタンスのうちひとつがすべての計算資源を使用し、その計算資源を必要に応じて移動させる。また優先度付きキューは、各フローに優先度を割り当て、常に優先度が高いフローから処理を行う。本研究では、同種のフロー、すなわち、同一のホスト上で処理される同一のサービス、VNFのフローにはすべて同じ優先度を割り当てている。この方式をper-host priority と呼ぶ。この提案モデルを配備コストの最小化をおこなう最適化問題として定式化し、この問題を実用的な時間で解くための発見的アルゴリズムであるFlexSizeを開発した。

Reason

サービスチェインの設定要求と削除が繰り返される動的シナリオを想定して、VNFリサイジングと優先度付きキューの両方を考慮したサービス配備モデルを提案した。同一ホスト上のVNFインスタンスが計算資源を共有しないモデルをベースラインモデルとした。提案モデルがベースラインモデルと比べ、サービス配備コストを削減可能であることを示した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今後は、同一種類のフロー、すなわち同一のサービス、VNF、ホストに属するフローに異なる優先度を与えるper-flow priority を提案する。Per-flow priorityでは、フローの種類ごとに優先度の範囲を決定し、各フローの優先度はその範囲内から無作為に割り当てられる。これにより、ある種類に属するフローは、ほかの種類のフローよりある確率で優先度が高い、という優先度を考慮したサービス配備を実現することを目指す。
