Summary of the Research Project

機械学習と知識表現を統合することで説明可能かつロバストなAIを実現しようとする試みである。現状のAIは学習データに強く依存しており、状況が少し変わると正しい結果が得られないことが多い。またその結果がどのようにして導かれたかについての情報を得ることが難しい。これらは現代AIの基本的な問題点であり、本研究はこれらの課題と正面から向き合うものである。

現代のAI研究の中心的課題が扱われており、AI研究のブレークスルーにつながる可能性が認められる。その場合、科学技術全般ならびに社会への波及効果も期待される。
