Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we conducted a comprehensive study of “Ono no Takamura Utajidukushi” as part of the “History of Literary Life” project. Specifically, we organized the materiality of “Ono no Takamura utajidukushi” and analyzed its kanji characters (1), and then organized its development (2), and published a report on the results, “Ono no Takamura utajidukushi to sono Tenkai” (private edition). In section (1), based on the classification by Ishikawa Ken (1972) and Yamada Tadao (1969), we organized and classified the “Ono no Takamura Uta jidukushi” books according to size, item type, number of items, headnote appendix, etc. We also prepared a list of characters used in the poem and a list of character styles to present a general overview of characters used in the poem. In section (2), we have organized and presented a list of the development materials, and also organized the various books and development materials of “Ono ga Bakamura Usojidukushi” as representative materials.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究によって、現在時点での『小野篁歌字尽』の全体像を把握し提示できたことは、「文字生活史」記述のための１頁として貴重な資料として有効であるとともに、その書誌情報は、日本語研究のみならず、往来物研究、近世文学研究、近世出版研究においても貴重な基礎資料となるものである。成果報告書として刊行した『小野篁歌字尽とその展開』に資料として、収めた字体一覧、掲出字一覧、『うそ字拾遺』字体表は、『小野篁歌字尽』の漢字研究の基礎資料でもあり、「言語生活史」研究の記述方法の、ひとつのケーススタディーとして、一定の指針となるものと考えている。
