Through this grant I produced research that showed, in greater statistical detail than previously available, the listening self-efficacy growth trends among lower- and lower-intermediate-proficiency EFL Japanese university students. Due to unavoidable circumstances, namely the COVID-19 pandemic and two changes in teaching institutions during the period of this research grant, several adjustments were necessary to investigate the new populations and to accomodate for the lack of the use of X-Reading, which was a primary component of the study as planned. Therefore, no publications have been produced based on this research as of yet, although two are currently being composed.
