Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To enhance the support system for deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) faculty members, it is critical to demonstrate that the system effectively engages DHH faculty members and evaluates the benefits for students who took classes taught by DHH faculty members. The study employed a mixed-methods design, involving university students who attended classes taught by DHH faculty members, as well as DHH faculty members working at mainstream universities both internationally and nationally. The findings indicate that university students showed higher total values for DHH faculty classes, underscoring the importance of disability accommodations for DHH faculty members. Furthermore, the study examined the experiences of DHH faculty members with disability accommodations at their current, former, and alumni universities. Consequently, the differences in the quality of the support system between faculty and students were identified, despite both groups receiving disability accommodations.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
