Outline of Final Research Achievements

On-demand food delivery had become an essential part of urban life. This study aimed to improve such services by coordinating both in-house and crowdsourced couriers.(1) We framed the shift-scheduling problem for crowdsourced couriers as a prize-collecting set multi-cover problem and developed an approximation algorithm with a proven performance guarantee.(2) Using demand forecasts, we built a mixed-integer programming model that assigned orders online, maintained service quality, and reduced labor costs.

Finally, we analyzed social-media data on consumer attitudes toward food tech, especially alternative meats, and discussed how these insights could guide future service design.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
