Outline of Final Research Achievements

With the advancement of inclusive education, it has become evident that students with learning disabilities involving visual and auditory impairments are increasingly integrated into regular classrooms. However, it is also common for these students to gradually fall behind in their studies within such settings. Through school visits, researchers have frequently observed that introducing multimedia DAISY materials has helped facilitate greater participation in learning. The research findings have been presented at the Japanese Association for Learning Disabilities through poster sessions and independent symposiums.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

DAISY教科書以外の図書をDAISY化している研究者と協力することで、読字障害児が一般の図書に興味を持ち、読書意欲が向上したことは評価に値する。また、マルチメディアDAISYの新たな取り組みとして、教師が作成した資料やテスト問題を教師自らDAISY化できる機能も共同開発した。このスキルにより合理的配慮の具体策として配慮受験にまで取り組みが進んでいることも特筆すべきことである。
