Research Abstract

(1)両面レーザー加熱ダイヤモンドアンビル高圧装置を用いて、外核条件でのFe-S系の融点をX線その場観察法で決定する。さらに安定な超高温と超高圧の極限を目ざす。300GPaの圧力で内核に相当する3500K以上の条件の安定的発生と計測を行う。アンビル面の負荷を減らすパルスレーザー加熱とそこでの測温とX線回折を試みる。研究協力者としてレーザー衝撃波研究を専門とする大阪大学の尾崎典雅博士の協力を仰ぐ。(境、村上、大谷)
(2)SPring-8のBL10XUに、エネルギー領域放射光^<57>Feメスバウア分光システムを導入し、マントル最下部までの圧力条件(135GPa)において常温のもとで、下部マントルを構成する鉱物の鉄の価数、スピン状態を解明する(平尾、境、寺崎)。
(3)レーザー加熱式ダイヤモンドアンビル高圧装置を用いた高温高圧条件におけるラマン分光測定システムを導入し、下部マントル構成鉱物および珪酸塩メルトの構造、物性を明らかにする。(村上、境、大谷)。
(4)SPring-8のBL10XUにおいて、地球核の高温高圧下での圧力スケールを確立するために、NaCl(B2)のブリルアン散乱法による音速と密度の同時測定を継続する。また、下部マントル鉱物の音速測定を行う。(村上、境、大谷)
(5)SPring-8のビームラインBL35XUにおいて、X線非弾性散乱法によって地球核物質の多結晶合金の音速測定を行い、鉄合金中の軽元素の音速への影響の系統的な測定実験を継続する。非静水圧性を解消する工夫をし、高圧での信頼性の高い測定を目指す。ポータブルレーザー加熱システムをBL35XUに導入し、高温・高圧での温度測定を開始する。測定には、研究協力者としてBL35XUの責任者であるA.Baron博士の協力と助言を仰ぐ(境、村上、大谷)。
(6)PFおよびSpring-8ビームラインのマルチアンビル高圧装置を用いて、金属鉄メルトの物性(密度、粘性係数、音速)の測定を高圧下で行う。(寺崎、鈴木、大谷)

Current Status of Research Progress

Reason

・X線非弾性散乱による鉄の音速測定は、世界最高圧167GPaでの測定を可能にした。また、外熱法による高温での測定を可能にした。ポータブルレーザーが挿入され、SP8測定に着手する準備がととのている。・ケイ酸塩メルト、ガラスの音速測定については、高圧でメルトの音速測定に成功した。・高圧下でのラマン散乱測定については、装置の設置組み立て、測定準備が終了した。・パルスレーザー加熱は、高圧での加熱と温度の推定が可能になっている。・金属鉄(FeS)メルトの音速を6GPaませ超音波法で測定することができた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

X線非弾性散乱による音速測定については、新たに外熱法を導入して高温での測定が可能になるなど、予想以上の前進をした。メスバウアー法の導入については、調整がほぼ終わりこれからいよいよ測定に着手する。なお、次年度については、連携研究者の境毅が異動し、またこの研究を推進した3名の大学院生が博士の学位を取得し、学振研究員として転出した。この変化にともなって、連携研究者(2名)、研究支援者1名を新たに確保するなど、組織の更新を行っている。本研究の活動度を低下させないよう新たなメンバーへの引き継ぎを行いたい。
