Research Abstract |
Among the family of protein arginine methyltransferases, PRMT1 accounts for over 85% of the total arginine methyltransferase activities in cells, and it is localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Although PRMT8 that has 83% amino acid homology to PRMT1, its biological significance and substrate remain unclear. In the present study, we tried to examine the enzymatic activity of PRMT8 and its cellular function.
