数十年スケールのイワシ資源量動態と中世温暖期に資源量低下を招いた機構の解明

Research Abstract

地球温暖化に伴って、数十年スケールで大変動する太平洋のイワシ資源は、今後どのような変動を示すのか。中世温暖期におけるイワシ資源量の低下期に着目し、中世温暖期におけるイワシ資源量の数十年スケール変動の振幅と周期性が、それ以外の時期と比べどのように変化したか、数十年スケール変動の様態変化がどのようなメカニズムによって引き起こされたかを古水温・低次生産指標を用いて解明を試みてきた。
1,噴火湾セジメントトラップ・採水調査
ITEX86水温復元の基礎情報として、どの季節の水温の指標となっているのかを検討するため、噴火湾においてセジメントトラップによる古細菌膜脂質沈降量調査・採水調査を実施してきた。現在、トラップ及び採水試料の古細菌膜脂質分析を進めている。
2,海底コア解析
平成22年4月に採取した、噴火湾・苫小牧沖・下北半島沖の10mピストンコア試料について、コアの岩層記載や帯磁率・密度等の物理特性、火山灰鉱物組成・化学組成を分析し、層序に関する基礎的な情報を得てきた。また、14C年代を測定し、火山灰の年代をあわせコアの年代モデルを検討した。その結果、コア最深部の年代と堆積速度は、噴火湾(F2コア)では12000年で33cm/1000年、苫小牧沖(T3コア)では9000年で69cm/1000年、下北半島沖のSK-2は15000年で76cm/1000年、SK-4が15000年で35cm/1000年であった。高解像度記録復元を可能にするコアは、苫小牧沖T3と下北半島沖SK-2コアであることがわかったので、今後これらのコアからの水温・基礎生産情報について解析を進めていく予定である。
