Research Abstract |
The present study was performed to evaluate the effects of exercise training and L-arginine administration on the fibrinolysis, blood coagulation and oxidative stress in aged, obese and diabetic rats. The plasminogen activated factor (t-PA and u-PA) significantly increased after exercise training and L-arginine administration. Moreover, thromboxane B2 increased significantly increased after exercise training and L-arginine administration compared with the control rats. The protein oxidation and lipid peroxide significantly decreased, and reduced glutathione (GSH) and glutathione reductase significantly increased after exercise training and L-arginine administration compared with the control rats. This study confirmed that the exercise training and L-arginine administration improved plasminogen activated factor (t-PA and u-PA) and blood coagulation might be due to decrease in oxidative stress in aged, obese and diabetic rats.
