Research Abstract |
My study purported to reveal the universal significance and value of Northern Irish fiction with the main focus on George A. Birmingham. Through the analysis of the controversy caused by Birmingham’s first two novels I proved that this troubled experience enabled Birmingham to write universally appealing novels which emphasize the importance of humor. Regarding the study on a new development ofNorthern Irish fiction, I showed that Glenn Patterson(1961-) and Sharon Owens(1968-) portrayed the new Northern Ireland which provides other topics than the Troubles.
