Research Abstract |
Exact coherent solutions in sliding Couette flow, pipe flow and plane Poiseuille flow are obtained by a method of homotopy continuation from the exact coherent solution in plane Couette flow. It is found that a mirror-symmetric spatial structure is commonly observed in these flows and plays an important role in transition from laminar flow to turbulence.
