Research Abstract |
A model to explain consumers’ behavior for transportation service under uncertainty was developed and freedom of decision making and the value of commitmentwas derived theoretically. By comparing pre- and post-fee system, it was shown that social welfare can be always improved by introducing the post-fee system in addition to the conventional fee systems. Economic benefit of price differentiation system, which is frequently observed in airline market, was also evaluated.
