Summary of the Research Project

SARS-CoV-2感染上皮細胞において、細胞内RNAセンサーRIG-Ⅰが受容体シグナルを介さずに抗ウイルスに働く新規作用を発見し、Intrinsic immunity概念を提唱する応募者が、当該概念に関わる候補分子を網羅的に同定し、新規抗ウイルス作用の分子メカニズムを明らかにする研究計画である。

Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

サイトカインではない、直接的な抗ウィルス応答の新規メカニズムを見出し、まだ明らかにされていない初期の感染防御の分子メカニズムの解明や新しい感染防御メカニズムの解明につながり、ワクチン開発に新しい視点を導入できるなどの波及効果も期待できる。
