Outline of Final Research Achievements

We conducted research on queer pedagogy, physical and health literacy, and innovative practices, and obtained various suggestions for a new physical education curriculum. We also conducted focus group interviews with physical education and sports instructors as well as with aspiring students interested in the topic of "dislike of physical education". Additionally, we interviewed support experts of sexual minorities to explore the reasons behind people’s dislike of physical education and to identify ways to improve the situation.
In addition to research presentations and papers, we have focused on giving back to society. This includes creating and distributing pamphlets such as "LGBTQ+ Support Experts Discuss the Current State and Future of School Physical Education," and publishing a book, "Why Do People Dislike Physical Education? - The Future of Physical Education Illuminated by the Perspective of Gender and Sexuality".

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

国内での体育科教育やスポーツ参加に関する研究においては、沈黙し不可視化された「体育嫌い」の経験や声に関する研究は僅少であり、運動好きでより高い運動能力や体力を目指すという規範に沿った改善策や処方に視点が向けられてきた。多様性や共生を強調する教育やスポーツ界にあっても、「理想的な」身体や動き,社会関係に対する「公的な知」は強固であり、それゆえ規範に沿わない人々の声はかき消されてきた。
一方、本研究者らによるこれまでの研究では、「体育嫌い」は創造的な視点を持つ存在としての価値を見出していることから、本研究の基本的問いは、「体育嫌い」の研究を通じて新たな体育科教育の展望を見出すことにある。
