Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I presented results from my two different aspects of my research topic on two separate occasions. The first was a presentation entitled "Figures of Desire, Figures Desired: A Cross-Genre Analysis of O-josama," which was presented at the Kyarachters: The Other Side of Narrative workshop held at the University of California, Los Angeles April 28-30. This presentation dealt with some of the genre history aspects of my topic. The second presentation was “O-josama-bu desu wa!”: “Young lady speech” and gender-inclusive liberation from the mundane" at the 12th International Gender and Language Association Conference held at the University of Queensland July 4-6, and this presentation covered some of my research dealing with Twitter data.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
I feel myself to be a little bit delayed, as I was on maternity and child-care leave from September 1st until January 1st, and progress is still a bit slow due to caretaker responsibilities.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I am currently finishing two articles on some of my research outcomes, one of which dealing with Twitter data and the other with livechat data. My plan is to first finish those, and then I will move on to drafting a book proposal that deals with the broader scope of my topic.
|
Causes of Carryover |
It will be used for acquiring books and other materials, as well as for expanding external secure storage space for data.
