Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this research, I aimed to conservation and restoration of salt marshes that provide important ecosystem services to us. I attempted to evaluate the species diversity of them with high marsh zones, which have not received much attention so far. The results suggest that salt marsh patches with a high marsh zone connected to the land area have a high species diversity of benthos that utilize salt marshes. Moreover, I attempted to classify the salt marsh ecosystems, resulting that they can be classified into six types with different aquatic fauna and physicochemical environments.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
