Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the mechanism of the rise of student movements based on university campuses in central Tokyo from 1945 to the 1960s and their decline after the mid-1970s, focusing on the transformation of student districts which were affected by campus location policies. The campus location policies are a field where higher education policies, urban planning, and industrial promotion policies overlap in a complex manner. During the research period, I especially focused on conducting a literature survey on the campus location policies to understand the actual situation of the formation and dismantling of student district in the Kanda-Ochanomizu area (Bunkyo and Chiyoda wards, Tokyo) and the resulting inflow and outflow of student population. The result was presented at the 20th World Congress of Sociology in Melbourne, Australia and other opportunities.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
