Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to investigate the concept of moral education
implemented at the elementary education level as a preparatory stage for value education based on various forms of knowledge related to values such as religion, ethics, and philosophy, using Germany as a case study. In 2022, I focused on Haidt's theory as part of an overview of the key issues in German value education. In 2023, I reviewed volumes 1 through 4 of the textbook "Leben leben." As a result, common trends observed in all volumes included a "competency-oriented approach," emphasis on "language activities," consideration of related knowledge and disciplines using texts, and "question-centered activities." Furthermore, as an advanced structure in volume 4, it was revealed that a modular system based on "questions" was adopted as an instructional innovation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
