Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Using a conditional knockout (cKO) mouse model to delete YTHDF3 from excitatory neurons, we monitored neuronal activity with GCaMP6f delivered via Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) and two-photon calcium imaging. cKO mice showed reduced running periods during habituation compared to wild-type (WT) mice, but their licking behavior patterns were similar. Although YTHDF3 depletion affected learning during acclimatization, it did not interfere with spatial memory formation, suggesting further research is needed to understand YTHDF3's role in spatial learning and memory.
