Outline of Final Research Achievements

Data were collected, analyzed, and an English-language article was prepared and submitted for a cost-effectiveness analysis study of primary aldosteronism practice. The results of the analysis showed that the primary aldosteronism practice flow including S-AVS and RFA had an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio lower than the social willingness-to-pay threhold, compared to the practice flow using only medications. The study is currently under peer review evaluation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

日本の国民医療費は高齢化、医療技術の進歩を背景に令和元年度44兆3895億円と過去最高額を記録している。この増加傾向は今後も続くことが予測され、国民皆保険制度の持続可能性が危ぶまれており、医療費抑制は日本の喫緊の課題となっている。医療技術の費用に対する効果を定量的に測定・比較する医療経済評価を行うことで、エビデンスに基づいた医療資源の分配が可能である。また本領域のエビデンスが蓄積していくことで、将来の医療費抑制に資することが期待される。本研究は放射線診断学領域における医療経済評価を実施することで、将来の適切な診療指針の作成、医療資源の最適分配に貢献することを目的として実施された。
