| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
1) Results final year: conducted review of survey data from Italy and finalized survey data from Japan. Presented results from Italian case studies at national and international conferences. Conducted data collection and analysis in Italian and Japanese high schools to identify attitudes and differences in risk. Established new contacts at universities in Japan and Europe.
2) Results entire research period: developed a method to analyze and compare disaster preparedness applicable to different cultures (Italy-Japan). Results highlighted the importance of culture and personal disposition in motivation and desire to engage in disaster preparedness. Results were shared with stakeholders (academic and policy) to inform further research and actions.
