Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

During FY2023 Kitsnik made significant progress in her research on inequality and environmental attitudes. She successfully presented her findings at various international and local conferences. In addition to her presentations and talks, Kitsnik published a single authored article in an international peer-reviewed journal and submitted a first-authored book chapter (invited) for publication with Oxford University Press. Furthermore, she has contributed to an edited volume published by Sophia University Press. These accomplishments reflect Kitsnik’s ongoing commitment to sharing her insights with a broad audience: Her work sheds light on important societal issues and contributes to the academic discourse on inequality and environmental attitudes.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

For FY2024, Kitsnik has planned several presentations and publications. First is an invited talk with her host researcher at the German Institute for Japanese Studies (DIJ) Tokyo on “Who Drives the Green Shift? Environmental Attitudes in Japan from 1993 to 2020”. Following this, she will present her individual research findings on wealth gap sentiments at the RC28 Spring Meeting in Shanghai. In addition to this, she will continue to work on several articles, the publication of which is likely to happen only after the conclusion of her JSPS fellowship at the end of June.

Causes of Carryover

An international workshop that the fellow had intended to participate in Italy in March 2023 did not work out. For this reason, this sum had to be transferred into FY2024, where it will be used for conference participation and publication purposes.
