Outline of Annual Research Achievements

液体アルゴン三次元飛跡検出装置の構築の総仕上げを行い、その宇宙線による性能評価、さらには今回の性能評価に基づいた将来の大型検出装置のデザイン作業、将来の大型検出装置を用いたニュートリノ測定の精度に関する評価をも含めて研究のとりまとめを行なった。検出装置の構築については、液体アルゴン三次元飛跡検出装置の純化装置の製作、電荷シグナル読み出し装置の製作、シンチレーション光読み出し光検出装置の製作を終了し、測定装置を完成させた。作成された液体アルゴン三次元飛跡検出装置は想定されたシグナル強度で、宇宙線の飛跡をとらえることに成功した。電荷シグナル読み出し装置は宇宙線飛跡の三次元情報をとらえ、また、シンチレーション光読み出し光検出装置は、宇宙線のシグナルを捉えて、電荷シグナル読み出しに必要なトリガーシグナルおよび時間情報を供給することに成功した。今回の性能評価の知見に基づき、20ktおよび50ktの液体アルゴン三次元飛跡検出装置の技術設計を行い、20ktから70ktの液体アルゴン三次元飛跡検出装置を、ニュートリノ源から2300kmの距離に設置した際の、ニュートリノ質量階層性、レプトンのCP対称性の研究に関する測定精度の評価を行い、液体アルゴン三次元飛跡検出装置を極めて長い基線長との組み合わせで用いた長基線ニュートリノ実験研究が他の計画の追随を許さないものであることを示した。得られた成果は学術専門誌へ投稿し、国内外の学会、研究会で発表された。
