Research Abstract |
We have studied the current crime-prevention programs implemented at foreign schools in Japan,as well as those implemented in their home countries,as part of our effort to develop useful programs.Based on the results of our studies,we have developed an e-learning program that will help expand the studies to field work. Our program features crime-prevention education especially adapted for life in Japan and a question-and-answer style smartphone application for teaching children how to protect themselves against drug abuse, while also focusing on avoiding delinquency. We encourage collaboration with local communities and uploaded a program for making "Community Safety Maps".This program will help the students who had finished taking the safety courses to create their own maps.We also created a portal site to crosslink the students'activities. In addition,we have implemented features that allow some students to use at home in case the schools don't have enough class time.
