Research Abstract |
This research clarified the process in which a postcolonial identity was formed, by analysing the Maori literature in New Zealand. Special emphasis was put on Witi Ihimaera's mythical method. By recontextualizing and reinterpreting the Maori myths and tradition, he was able to create a new identity of co-existence without returning to Maori patriarchy.
