Research Abstract |
We researched intercultural education in the theatre arts with a focus on Shakespeare performances worldwide, including translated and/or adapted plays. I am virtually a pioneer in combining Shakespeare studies and intercultural education. Assisted by a younger researcher, I built a foundation on which to explore both the theory and the practice of global Shakespeare performances in order to contribute to intercultural education research. We identified a variety of such performances and offer effective suggestions for promoting intercultural education through world Shakespeare performances.
