Research Abstract |
In this study,we focused on documents issued by the military goverment(bakufu) during the Muromachi period(1336-1573) by asking what kind of organic links exist between the unwritten information which is conveyed by such "thinds" as the writing paper itself and the information which is conveyed by the words written on it. Specifically through the transmission of light through the documents and observations with a microscope we were able to broadly divide paper into that which had much of its impurities removed and that which had impurities remaining ,and further categorized these into four types. We were unable to correlate these four categories with the information written on the paper, but could gain a certain perspective on the subject.
