Research Abstract |
In this research, we examined and clarified the function, which general trading company performed, from a standpoint of trading relation of Mitsubishi Corporation and the clients. The analysis result is shown below. Firstly, Mitsubishi Corporation performed functions to mediate affiliations with foreign companies and to help market cultivation. I focus on the fact that Mitsubishi Corporation conducted careful research on performance, technical capabilities and product reputation of clients. General trading company gathered actively information of business partner and used it for its own decision-making. Secondly, Mitsubishi Co. sent their staff members and directors to clients as either temporary or resident staff, which served a dual function of supplying business resources and monitoring its management conditions. It should also be noted that Mitsubishi Co. actively took part in the formulation and implementation of the revival plan of clients.
