Research Abstract |
Angiogenic modulator, such as sFlt1 produced by poorly invaded placenta, is known to be involved in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia. This study demonstrated that 1) thrombin, a major factor produced during the clot formation, induced sFlt1 production in trophoblasts, and 2) measuring serum sFlt1 and placental growth factor (PlGF) can predict the onset of preeclampsia.
