Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During the 2014 academic year, I was able to partner with Project WET (water education for teachers) to sponsor a training session in Tokyo with roughly 40 participants, who received their "Educator" certification. I networked in Montana, USA with US/Japan/global leaders of Project WET and learned about their research in active learning about water. In December, I adapted a water related questionnaire used in India for the Palestinian context, working with Friends of the Earth Middle East in Bethlehem, in preparation to conduct the survey remotely at ethnic and religious schools in Nazareth, Israel, and Bethlehem, Palestine. I also confered with Eco-Peace in Tel Aviv, Israel about adapting the survey further to the Israeli context. Finally, I hosted a Water Literacy Open Forum with 70 participants from Japan, and we interviewed a representative of Water Literacy Foundation in Bengaluru, India about water hygiene and related educational issues in the pond villages of rural India.
