貴金属ナノ粒子を担持したバルクナノ熱電材料の創出と熱電特性

Research Abstract

本研究では、放射線照射法と放電プラズマ焼結法を組み合わせた手法により、熱電材料中に貴金属ナノ粒子を分散させたバルクナノ材料を創出することを目的としている。
今年度は、貴金属水溶液濃度やγ線照射時間等を変化させることで、ナノ粒子の担持量やサイズを変化させた種々の複合粒子を作製した。ナノ粒子の種類、量、サイズの異なる複合粒子に対してSPSを施すことで、ナノ粒子の分散形態の異なる種々のバルクナノ材料を作製した。具体的には、BiSbTe合金に種々の量の金ナノ粒子を付与した複合材料を作製し、そのゼーベック係数、電気抵抗率、熱伝導率、ホール効果を測定することで、性能指数ZTを評価した。その結果、ナノ粒子を付与していない通常のBiSbTe合金のZTに対して、最大で18%高いZTを得ることに成功した。このZTの向上は、主にナノ粒子の付与による熱伝導率の低減に起因するものであった。
