This study focuses on relationship of women’s sumo as folk performing arts in Kyusyu and professional women’s sumo. Of the woman sumo as folk performing arts in Kyushu, only one case of Shikimi, Nagasaki city was started under the influence of professional women’s sumo. But there are several cases which were stared from entertainment of celebrations for the enthronement of the Emperor Showa in 1928. In those days, professional women’s sumo troupes toured various places in Japan energetically. Therefore women in those areas might masquerade as professional women’s sumo wrestler and perform sumo match.
