Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Using research and analysis on street fashion as standard criteria, I conducted an observation on the singularity of Japanese fashion and its ability to disseminate overseas. Through an accumulation of photographic materials taken from fixed points of observation, and by digitizing and organizing these photos into data, while conducting a historical study of street fashion in Japan spanning a period since the end of World War II up to the present day, I investigated the conceptual transitions of fashion and the transformations in their mechanisms. As a result, it was clear that the reason that street fashion had become an object of medium for Cool Japan was because it was unrelated with the context or to the fashion systems associated with standard transformations in fashion.
