Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this project, I collected the documents and the writings of ROYAMA Masamichi and focused on his political views and activities after the World War II. He insisted social democracy and support politicians who share political orientation with him. He regarded himself as a intellectual, so he refused to act as a politician. I also did the same things about SEKI Yoshihiko who were about twenty years younger than Royama. Seki believed in social democracy as well as Royama, but he undertook political activities. Compared with Royama, I grasped another type of a intelectual among social democrats in the Postwar Japan. Moreover, I participated as a part of this project in another one, where we published the diary of KAWAKAMI Jotaro.
