高度変成岩から読みとる地殻内流体活動のタイミングと空間分布

Research Abstract

東南極セール・ロンダーネ山地の苦鉄質岩試料中の角閃石・黒雲母の塩素濃度の分布を昨年度に引き続き調べた。その結果、セール・ロンダーネ山地の東西200 kmにわたり、泥質岩試料の研究から確認されていた濃い塩水活動の直線状分布は、岩相によらず塩基性岩にも記録されていることがわかった。この分布結果を、公表されたばかりのドイツのグループによる空中磁気探査の結果と比較したところ、セール・ロンダーネ縫合線やバルヒェン・デタッチメント付近の、低磁気異常と高磁気異常域の境界付近と一致した。このことから濃い塩水活動が大陸衝突帯における大構造に深く関係していることが示された。中央セール・ロンダーネ山地ブラットニーパネの試料から、複数段階の濃い塩水活動の温度圧力条件を800°C, 0.96 GPaと700°C, 0.70 GPaの間、および700°C, 0.70 GPa程度と見積もった。
東南極リュツォ・ホルム岩体スカレビックハルセンのザクロ石珪線石片麻岩から、濃い塩水活動が新たに見いだされた。この証拠はザクロ石の中だけに保存されており、見積もられた濃い塩水活動の温度圧力条件は850°C, 1.2 GPa程度であった。濃い塩水活動に伴って、部分溶融現象も起きていたことがナノ花崗岩包有物の存在から明らかとなった。これは、部分溶融が流体中の塩濃度を上昇させる役割を担ったか、あるいは濃い塩水の流入が部分溶融を促進したかのいずれかを示す。この活動の年代はモナズ石のU-Th-Pb年代から550-500 Maであると推定される。
ネパールヒマラヤ・タイの高温変成岩試料からはホウ素に富む流体活動の痕跡は見出されたものの、濃い塩水活動は見出されなかった。
