Research Abstract |
The Pringle maneuver is performed in hepatectomy due to reduce hemorrhage. Our previous study using a continuous blood glucose monitoring revealed that liver ischemia/reperfusion causes a rapid and profound transition in glucose concentration. Our study showed that glucose release from the hepatic vein and sinusoid leads to a rapid elevation in systemic blood glucose levels after liver ischemia/reperfusion. Furthermore, we investigated whether iatrogenic blood glucose variation cause inflammation.
