Outline of Final Research Achievements

Current generative AI systems demonstrate improving capabilities and possess reasoning functions, but they cannot handle analogical reasoning yet;the long-distance mapping between seemingly unrelated concepts;when similar patterns are not present in their training data. Understanding analogical reasoning remains a challenge in cognitive science, and its implementation holds significant engineering value. Therefore, this research aims to advance both the understanding and implementation of analogical reasoning, particularly focusing on developing algorithms that can autonomously explore appropriate levels of 'granularity' within hierarchical data structures to perform analogical inference.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

階層的ネットワークとして感情語の間の類似性、関連性、遷移的関係についての精細なデータ(重み付き有向完全グラフ)を取得・分析した。従来仮定されてきた構造の妥当性の検討が可能となったほか、感情空間の構造が明らかにできる。また、不定自然変換理論 (TINT) の新しいアルゴリズムを与えた。特に「蝶は踊り子である」のような比喩を類推的に理解する実験とシミュレーションで、従来よりも優れた結果を得た。
