Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、超新星残骸・活動銀河核などの高エネルギー天体の放射機構・粒子加速機構、宇宙線の起源を解明すること、さらに
ガンマ観測を通して暗黒物質探索を行うことである。本年度、以下の成果を得た。
１、20 GeV～100 TeVのガンマ線を従来よりも一桁高い感度で大気チェレンコフ望遠鏡を用いて観測する次期計画CTAの口径23m望遠鏡に搭載する焦点面カメラについて、以下の開発を行った。（１）７本の光電子増倍管からの信号を2GHzで同時に波形サンプリングする回路を開発した。この回路には、増幅率が異なる2系統アンプおよび低消費電力アナログメモリが使われ、デジタル化された波形データはイーサネットで転送される。（２）光電子増倍管１本毎の1次トリガー、続いて、光電子増倍管7本単位間の2次トリガー生成を、スペイン・ドイツグループと協力し開発した。
２、MAGIC望遠鏡によるサブTeV/TeVガンマ線観測のデータを解析した。（１）電波銀河IC 310から、約5分で強度が2倍変化するγ線フレアをMAGICで検出した。もし、γ線放射領域のサイズが、ブラックホールのサイズならば、ジェットによる相対論的時間短縮効果を考慮しても、変動スケールは約20分であるため、MAGICによる観測結果は、γ線放射がブラックホールサイズより狭い領域で起こっていることを示す。放射機構として、回転ブラックホール極軸付近の磁気圏に、電位ギャップが発生し、降着円盤・トーラスからの光子・光子衝突で対生成された電子・陽電子が加速され、逆コンプトン散乱によりγ線を放射していると考えられる。（２）HESS J1857+026を観測し、広がったソースを、1 TeV以上で、2つのソースに解像することに成功し、一方はパルサー星雲、他方は分子雲と相関していることが分かった。（３）パルサー星雲3C 58から、パルサー星雲で最も暗い強度のTeV γ線放射を発見した。

Reason

次期大気チェレンコフ望遠鏡であるCTA口径23m望遠鏡の焦点に搭載する、光電子増倍管からの信号を高速で波形サンプリングする回路を開発し、量産を開始した。また、現行のMAGIC望遠鏡によるTeVガンマ線観測によって、活動銀河核のγ線放射機構について極めて重要な発見があった。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

次期計画CTA口径23m望遠鏡に搭載する高速波形サンプリング回路の開発を今後も続け、プロトタイプ望遠鏡に搭載するカメラを完成させ、実証観測を目指す。また、本課題による観測が少ない超新星残骸を、現行MAGIC望遠鏡およびFermi衛星を用いて観測し、銀河内宇宙線起源の解明を目指す。
