Outline of Annual Research Achievements

(1). 新モジュール構造の劣化抑制技術開発:600 ℃大気雰囲気下における500時間までの耐久試験において、界面劣化に起因するNi-Si層が形成されることが明らかとなり、母材の分解を連動した素子破損と劣化メカニズムを明らかにした。新たな発電素子向け電極形成法として、大口径試料の作製や、均一な素子の作製が可能になると見込まれるペースト状Ni電極材を導入し、プロセス最適化により電極と母材間の接触抵抗率としてを得た。プロセスの簡便性、量産性、出力、耐久性に優れ実用化手法の目処がついた。

(2). Mg2Si原料開発による高耐久化および高性能化:Sb 0.5at%+Zn 1.0at%添加試料に関しては、本研究により大気中500時間以上の高温耐久性が実現された。量産を志向した簡便な焼結プロセスにおけるSb 0.5 at% Zn 1.0 at%添加試料で得られる試料のZTは、最大ZT値が873 Kで0.96であった。また、873 K、大気雰囲気下で高温耐久試験高温耐久性も持ち合わせているSb+Zn添加は有望であることが知られた。

(3).計算科学手法によるMg2Siのn型および等電子不純物ドーピング特性:Mg2Siの電子物性と熱電特性に対する不純物添加効果を明らかにし、性能向上に向けた材料設計の指針を得るため、第一原理計算による理論解析を行った。本年度は新しいn形不純物の探索や、等電子不純物を添加した系の物性評価、さらに格子欠陥が及ぼす影響について調査を行った。96原子からなるスーパーセルで、擬ポテンシャル法による格子緩和計算を行った。形成エネルギーから、ZnとCがそれぞれMg、Siサイトに置換され等電子不純物として働き、SとSeが安定なn形不純物となる結果となった。また、格子欠陥解析では、Mg空孔と格子間侵入が電子濃度や構造安定性に影響する結果となった。
