Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is widely held that Heidegger, the Kyoto-school and Tetsuro Watsuji, the most prominent philosophers of the 20th century, distanced themselves from political self- assertion after the collapse of the regimes to which they had been in their own way committed. In my research I analyzed how they tried to correct the policies of the regimes during/ before the war which they saw implausible in terms of their critique of modernity and then made clear that they maintained their earlier politico-philosophical positions, by means of which they readily interpreted the political situation of the post-war period.
