Outline of Final Research Achievements |
I showed that English picture books are particularly effective as teaching materials for elementary school students to learn English and made its teaching method clear. I showed through teaching classes using these methods, the following: (1)Students can understand what is written in the texts through the pictures. (2)They can become familiar with English sounds naturally. (3)They can learn letters and words naturally. (4)Through the interaction with teachers, they can build a positive attitude towards trying to speak and in turn foster their speaking ability. (5)Through the interaction with teachers, they can make a review about what they already learned. (6)We can provide students with alternative practical situations where they can show what they want to say using the target sentences they learned from the picture books. By changing the activities, we can use the same books for each grade, and students can continue to enjoy learning English through these books.
