Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The most important result of this study is as follows: based on primary documents (letters, memos, and drafts) in such archives of Cambridge University Library and LSE Archive Section, we conclude that (i) Beveridge and Keynes attempted to promote some system to balance fairness and efficiency, and that (ii) Keynes envisioned a complex organization that consists of eminent managers with their public mind, investors with long-term expectations, disinterested policy-makers, economic advisers with expertise, and the mass media which circulates true economic and social information. This complex organization is the very phenomenon of Keynes’‘SOCIALISATION OF INVESTMENT’.
