Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The research aim is to analyze the relationship between human resource management style differences and conflict at workplace between Japanese managers and local employees at Japanese manufactueres in Asia. The research was conducted by the questionnaire survey for Japanese managers and local employees at Japanese manufacturers in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. The result shows that there are relatioships between employees' stress and Japanese style management and leadership differences and workplace conflict of Japanese managers and local employees. There are rather large differences between survey results of Indonesia and those of Vietnam and Thailand. Japanese managers show tendency to adapt themselves to local management and leadership styles. The interview for university students who wish to work for Japanese manufacturers in future in Thailand was also conducted but did not find any possible cause to create cross-cultural workplace conflict at Japanese manufactuerers.
