Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The newspaper articles seem to express concerns on the social problems. In 1999 and 2000, Japanese newspapers reported some medical malpractice cases extensively and number of articles remarkable increased. However, it seems to have been decreasing rapidly. Some people said that newspaper companies had changed their stance on the responsibility of medical staff especially doctors. In this research, I examine article databases of some newspaper companies and found that two terms, ‘iryou-misu’ and ‘iryou-kago’ which mean ‘medical errors’, are frequently used to refer to medical matters as before. So I think there has been no remarkable change in the stance of newspaper companies.
