Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is crucial to know correct turbulent states and thermodynamics in protoplanetary disks to understand the planet formation processes. We have computed thermodynamical structure with magnetic turbulence for a local patch of a protoplanetary disk using direct numerical simulations of magnetohydrodynamics with radiative transfer. Specifically, we have obtained a thermal equilibrium curve (effective temperature vs. surface density) at an inner radius where thermal instability due to ionization transitions is expected.
