Outline of Final Research Achievements

We developed a program to infer the slip on the fault under the condition that the slip is uniform over the entire fault. This is applicable only for a limited area up to 10km because the error is not corrected. We also estimated 2.5 years of afterslip and viscoelastic rebound simultaneously for the 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake. We quantitatively evaluated contributions of afterslip and viscoelastic relaxation. The latter causes landward movements at the ocean bottom GPS/Acoustic stations.
